Charlie Midnight & Jan Fairchild
“The Everlovin’ Travelin’ Show” is an exciting, soulful, bluesy album by “The Skintight Revue” written, produced and performed by Charlie Midnight and Jan Fairchild with a little help from their really good friends. It conveys the feeling of being on the road, sharing the music and experiencing it with friends. The music is a New Orleans-influenced collage of songs. It’s stories about itinerant, hopeful, joyful travelers who in spite of whatever curves life throws at them, never stop rolling along …in a never-ending jam guided by the Van Morrison credo, “It’s too late to stop now”.
The first single, “The Everlovin’ Travelin’ Show” is a duet with Charlie and Buck Johnson, the keyboardist and backing vocalist with Aerosmith and The Hollywood Vampires. The song, with Jan’s rollicking, New Orleans-inspired music conveys that feeling of letting go, being free and being who you are. Join them on a non-judgemental, Mardi Gras-spirited journey they call, “The Everlovin’ Travelin’ Show”…
“Come on in, set yourself free
Be whoever you want to be
A lover, a dancer, a clown or a king Or you don’t have to be anything
Welcome to The Everlovin’ Travelin’ Show”
“I Never Get It Right” is a celebration of those of us who never seem to get over that hump, whether it’s love or success, but still feel joy in the journey…
“The roof started leakin’
Onto the bedroom floor She left while I was sleepin’
Made me love her even more
Turn out the light
I never get it right”
“Livin’ On The Hook” was inspired by a place off the coast of Florida that seems to be a refuge for people who want a certain kind of freedom or escape from whatever their lives might have been. Charlie channelled that feeling into the lyrics to Jan’s mystical and mysterious music…
“Welcoming all strangers to this high and holy place
A shelter for the weary where you can disappear without a trace
You may see me as a criminal, a conclusion you can draw
But me, I’m not a criminal, just a fugitive from the law
I’m just livin’ on the hook”
Charlie Midnight:
Brooklyn born and bred, Charlie began his career as the lead singer of Rock-n-Roll Bands, paying his dues in bars and clubs. He then recorded his “Innocent Bystander" album, which came to the attention of iconic record producer and artist, Dan Hartman. Soon thereafter, they became a successful songwriting team creating the classic James Brown song, “Living in America”. Never look back and say, “what if,” but look around and say, “what now,” then look ahead and say “what next.” Let the creating and the doing be an end in and of itself, but most importantly, let your passion fuel you.
